As the sunset sinks below,
I realize that it is night,
Preparing to defeat a hostile foe,
I grab my sword and get ready to fight.
In the distance, I hear some feet,
My self-defense instinct deploys,
I don't know what mob I might meet,
Until I heard a groaning noise.
A lone zombie walks 'cross the ground,
past a moonlit clump of sugar cane,
It walks 'till a player it has found,
And then it goes to eat their brain.
Walking toward it, I entice it,
Now I'm what it's hungry for,
Then I reach out my sword and slice it,
Now the zombie lives no more.
An arrow in the thigh is what I got,
Luckily it only slightly hurts,
I turn around to look who shot,
And behind me a skeleton lurks.
I jump behind a nearby tree,
as I think about what I should do,
Many more arrows whizz by me,
And then I used a strategy I knew.
I sprint forward with my sword and jabbed it,
And before it got a chance to shoot,
I ran around the skeleton and stabbed it,
And I got some bones as loot.
But suddenly, more mobs approached me,
My confidence began to fall,
I tried to fight like my trainer coached me,
But there was no way I could defeat them all.
I run away from that sight of fear,
But they shot arrows, so that didn't help me.
I use my sword to fight what's near,
But all the mobs overwhelmed me.
I try to see where my house is,
But all the mobs around me blind me.
I thought "There's no way out of this",
When a creeper explodes behind me.
At first I was relieved the mobs were bombed,
But I lay there weak and strained,
And then something I realized made my relief gone,
That after the explosion, more mobs came.
But then on the horizon, I saw a glimmer,
I knew it was the rising sun.
Now the sky began to shimmer,
And I knew that I had won.
With all my strength, I got up to attack,
Mobs all around me were burning.
All that hurt me, now I hurt them back,
And tons of XP I was earning.
I knew my journey wasn't done,
Even though the sky was bright,
But at least I knew that I had won,
That I would live to battle another night.
