Hey all, this blog is to inform you the ways and techniques of how i skin.
Step 1) Get your gear sorted: By this i mean get the "proper" applications
that professional skinners use to make their own skins. SkinEdit and
Photoshop are the two applications i use to create my skins and they
are what i recommend using for the best results. It is also a good idea to
draft or copy from a previous made image (never copy others skins) to
make your skin look like the idea you are trying to create.
Step 2) Make a base template: Making the template is probably one of
the hardest things to do as it is just an unfinished and undetailed version of
your skin. Use custom colors from Skinedit for the best result. NEVER USE
BURN ON SKINEDIT, it makes the skins look diseased and un-natural. This
process is around 85% of the work so take you time doing it.
Step 3) Use Photoshop for Details: Use tools such as Smudge, Blur,
Dodge and Burn to make your skin look real and natural.
Step 4) Return to SkinEdit with Final Product: Do this to make sure you
skin has no missing pixels and to see what the skin looks like in a 3D
perspective after adding the detail to it.
Step 5) Upload to PMC: Now watch the Diamonds come rolling in !
I really hope this helped all you skinners out there. If you found this tutorial a little confusing my
friends Studnicky and Halucid both have amazing tutorials on their own techniques of skinning.
