So yesterday I posted an apology/update in the "other" part of the blog section,
I felt that I needed to say some thing to my subs, as few as I have, I know that most of them look at, and usually enjoy my work. I felt I needed to apologize for my absence, and all the crap I put them through on a regular basis, and I spent a log time typing a heart felt message to my followers.
Only to find that it had been deleted by a mod.
I understand that there are rules, and that they are there for a reason, and don't get me wrong, a most of them are fine, but some of them are honestly crap. I was told that my post "is not a blog" and to "post in the forums", and I see why it would technically belong there. But honestly that would have defeated the point, since the forums and the main site aren't linked none of my subs would have seen it. Honestly, a blog post is the most appropriate way to post that message.
In my opinion one of two things need to happen,
1.the lines in the "other" section need to be blurred a little
2.the forums and the main site need to be better linked
Now I bet any mods or admins readings this are going to be freaking out at this point, and just hear me out.
I'm going to start with the second one, because I don't like it. The only reason why I even mentioned this is because it would fix the problem. But I don't want to see those kinda posts unless I go to the forums, which is exactly why we shouldn't have to post sub updates and stuff in the forums, it would just be pointless, they would never reach the intended audience.
Now let me clarify the first option. Everything that currently resides in the forums should stay there. everything that currently resides in the other sections of the site should stay there. everything that currently resides in the other parts of the blog section should stay there. All that I want is a little slack when posting in the "other" section, after all thats what a "other" section is for! If its something that doesn't quite fit in any section, thats where it goes, sub messages, SHOULD NOT be in the forum, and I have no idea why you think they should be, and they don't fit anywhere in the blogs, so the "other" section would be perfect for them.
Honestly this issue is just the tip of the iceberg when it comes to issues with this site, but one step at a time.
(UPDATE):
I'm pretty sure that you guys don't really get what I'm saying. With the forum, if I post something in the forums, it doesn't reach them were as if I post in the blogs section it shows up in there sub box. And "posting it on my profile" is the same thing, if they don't go to my profile, they don't see it. and I realize that "the "other" section isn't its own in PMC, it's "other" located in the blogging section." (which wouldn't be a bad idea to have a other section) but honestly that where it best fits, true its not quite a blog, but would you rather it be posted as a project? or a mod? no, no you wouldn't.

Have something to say?
The rules are to keep out not blogs from [wait for it..] the blogging section.
