Okay, first off, let me just clarify these are my tips, you don't need to follow them and you don't need to listen to them. c:
So you want to become one of those "fancy" youtubers, eh? Or just want to bypass the amazing 100 subscriber mark? Then follow some of my personal tips and tricks :D
Tip #1 - Do things you enjoy - Don't like doing collabs and would rather do solo commentary? Great! Like playing mini-games with friends? Amazing! Doing Youtube should be a hobby and something that you want to do and want to have fun doing it! Don't give into peer pressure (I guess that's what it's called) and do something that you don't want to do, where's the fun in that?
Tip #2 - Mics - Nobody likes listening to mics from a laptop, but then again mics aren't exactly "cheap". There are tons of different mics out there and if you're short on money, don't like buying offline or just feel like mics aren't exactly worth spending all your money on, I've found some that all cost at least 50$ or less which include - Samson Go Mic, Zalman ZM-Mic1 or Microsoft Lifechat LX-3000 (although the last one is more for recording, and not for listening/headphones)
Tip #3 - Avatars, Banners and Graphics - If you're just starting out, this shouldn't be your top priority. Any icon made from Novaskin should do you just as good, or even a simple render of your skin. As for graphics, there are tons of people here on PMC who make graphics for free! It won't hurt to check them out! :D
Tip #4 - Intros/Outros - Again, this shouldn't be your top priority. There are many Youtubers who I watch (like BrenyBeast and even JeromeASF) who don't use intros or outros. Remember, these things are optional and not needed.
Tip #5 - Editing Software - If you're just starting out, you don't need an expensive software for editing, Windows Movie Maker will do you just as good, I know one Youtuber I watch used it up until around 65k subscribers.
Tip #6 - Skins - Be original when it comes to this! In my honest opinion, I would try to stay away from mobs in Minecraft, as this has been done many, many times before and I would beg of you to stay away from [insert person/mob/fictional creature here] in a suit/tux.
Tip #7 - Voice - When it comes to watching Youtube, nobody wants to hear a boring, dull voice. Try to have a spark in you, be energetic and fun! If you're having fun, the audience will also :D
Tip #8 - Consistency - If you're still in high school (or school in general), then doing Youtube could be a tough job. If you're busy with IRL things (school, family, jobs, etc) then I would suggest having at least 3 videos a week, it would also help to stay organized and try to keep a schedule.
These are all the things I could think of right at this moment, but I'll probably be updating this whilst new ideas and tips come to mind. I hope all the new Youtubers and people who want to do Youtube find this useful! :D
