Hello all PMCers,
I would like to start with telling that blogwriting isnt my strongest side, but for this one time i would like to make an exception.
So back to the background for this blog: The big amount of new biomes mods.
If you have been on PMC and browsed through the mod section during the last few weeks, you proberbly already know what i am talking about.
I took 2 minutes to show my brother what i meant. During these two minutes I found over 20 different mods doing all the same things: Adding a diamond biome.
First of all, this gets very irritating. The popular reel get filled with mods that add 1 biome, When looking for a cool mod you have to scroll past dozens of new biome mods. THEY ARE EVERYWHERE!!!!
Of course i see why people upload them. I also started with a simple mod. LotsOMobs started with a noobish modeled Deer. After i managed to spawn a mob i wanted to try different things, Biomes, Items, Blocks, dimensions and so on. But instead of uploading a little mod for all those thing i combined them into one big mod. This doesnt overload the PMC page. Youll get just as many (If not more) Downloads, and more important: You learn how to adapt code so it goes together with other functions.
So I want to ask everyone who has plans on making a new biome mod: Please dont stop when you have made your biome, continue and keep adding more to it. Add structures, mobs, custom dungeons etc.

PS: Little fun fact. Before modloader got a addbiome method PMC only had 2k mods. And now it has over 5k!
