Since I joined this Minecraft fan site, originally to advertise my server, I've noticed quite a few nooby things a lot of you Planet Minecrafters often go about. So, my top three begin:
#3. Ask others to host you a server. This is common among many Planet Minecraft chat/forum users and often contains the excuse that either 'i dunnoz how to port forward and dun wanna pay' or 'i cant port forwad caus im not allowd'.
Tip for offenders: it is very unlikely that anyone will host you a server free and those that do will definitely be laggy, not 24/7, have little slots, be bad or a combination. I will be writing a tutorial about how to make a good server and become one of the top servers in the world in the near future.
#2. Ask for staff. Like asking to get a server hosted, this is common on chat and the forum. Most of the server chat section is filled with this along with advertisements.
Tip for offenders: you don't ask for staff, you earn it. Any server that gives you staff by simply asking is very bad. < look at the full stop.
#1. And now for number one: joining servers claiming to be a Planet Minecraft staff member. You probably all have seen that ICanHasGrief video which started this pointless trend. I get it; you want OP to have a little fun and destroy a few things with your newly-permitted commands but, in all honesty, it is vandalism, something illegal in the real world. While law enforcement will likely never even be slightly concerned about anything at this level which takes place in this blocky game, some elements of gaining OP in this method/griefing could be seen as breaking some countries' laws. The bottom line is that griefing and the likes are stupid and nooby things to do.
Tip for offenders: taking part in the destructive arts gives you a bad character and makes you a bad person. Yes, having a laugh from time to time is fun, but destroying projects, especially those of a large scale, isn't cool.
Well, there you have it. My top three noobiest actions frequently used by you PMCers. You guys really are unique ;)
