Only to the side of the water it will hydrate. Now water will try to go to a larger source of water. So block of the sides of water you are trying to use to hydrate the soil. Wait never mind once you hydrate the water your fine and you never need to hydrate it again unless when you take the seeds off and it dehydrates. While (a) seed(s) is on the soil it will not dehydrate. Also all plants in Minecraft need you to be in some distance of it. Wheat needs you to be in a 120 block radius of it which is 7 chunks. Now wheat has 8 stages of growth and it will grow faster while on hydrated water. That is all for this part. If you did like it I would appreciate a diamond and some suggestions.
