Hello there Minecraftians! Today I'll show you all there is to modifying items any way you want to. It can be lores, names, and enchantments! First is first, you need to get an external program to do this. Here is the links for the download and useful Minecraft Wiki pages for specific IDs.

First, put the items/blocks into your inventory, try to keep it empty of anything else.
Open up your selected program, and open the world's folder. Open up level.dat, if this is a multiplayer server, then open the folder called players and select your player.
Scroll all the way down to find a folder called Player, and scroll down to a folder called Inventory. Open the folder and you should find these certain tags; Count, Slot, Damage, and id.

If you named/enchanted the item/block, it should have a compound called tag. To create this in NBTEdit, just click on the package in the top-right corner. Name it 'tag' without the apostrophes.

For the naming, create a new compound called 'display'. Insert a string (the 2 Ts), and type in your favorite name for this item. To add color codes to this, copy and paste this section sign (§) and use the color codes link above; replace the ampersand with the section sign when you paste it in the string.
To make Lores, create a compound called display; you probably did this above. Add a list and choose string. Create a string and then place whatever info you want. Lores also support color codes (§), and you can make multiple lores. If you don't add color, it will be purple, it is also italicized already. There is one thing about the lores, to use the color codes, put the colors before the text modifications (bold, magic, strike, etc.)
To add enchantments, create a list (the note next to the compound) and select compound again; call the list ench. Add a compound into your new list and add 2 shorts (the red dot). Name one id and the other lvl. Use the enchantment IDs list and place the ID into the first short, lvl is obviously the enchantment level.

Now, about the first 4 parts you saw when you opened the item/block; Count, Slot, Damage, and id. Count is the amount there is stacked into it. 255 will make an infinite stack. Slot is obviously the position in the inventory; don't mess with this. Damage is either the tools durability (negative values increase durability, positive ones degrades it) ,or the item's/block's sub-type; like wool. Id is the item's id, you can convert the item/block into different items.
One thing, if you try to stack items that are unstackable, it will be glitchy. Things like right-clicking doors, moving it around and such can make it disappear. Even if it came from a stack, like dropping it with dispensers or manually dropping it can still make it glitchy.

Next time I'll show you more NBT tags stuff for your awesome adventure maps/survival world haxxing! Now for a little story; one time when I opened a Survival Games on my server, before it began, someone stole an iron sword form the center! I found the thief through NBTEdit and changed the sword into a book! The author was H@XX0r with the Xs magical, and inside it was written that the person should not cheat, but be fair.
Guess what? He rage-quited. It was hilarious, I had to coax him back 'cause my server did not have enough players yet too lose one. Oh! I know! I should show you how to change books! I'll do that soon, very soon! :D

I'll also very soonly make a video for this, probably during this week-end if everything turns out great. I also will make the title photo for this tutorial.

Good bye everyone! See you soon! If you want to, you can request what you want for the third tutorial! What will it be? Spawners? Potions? Mobs?

Nothing on the item?
If so, you must have had a messed up NBT tag in there, that might be the problem.

This should answer your question.
