Hello everyone, my name is xxUnKnOwNxx51 and im here to bring you a tutorial on how to start a Bukkit 1.6.2 MC server. A few of my friends asked me how i made mine and i thought i'd explain how to do so in a blog.

--For Windows 7--

What you will need:
  • Access to your router's website.
  • Latest version of Java.
  • Basic knowledge.

And finally here we go.

Creating the server.

  1. First and foremost, you are going to want to create a new folder on your desktop and name it whatever you like. This is where all the files for your server will be.
  2. Go to Bukkit's website and download the newest recommended bukkit build.
  3. Once downloaded, drag the jar file into your newly created folder.
  4. Create a new notepad file inside your new folder and paste the code at the bottom of the blog into the new notepad file.
  5. Save the notepad file as "run.bat" with the quotes.
  6. Rename the jar file that you downloaded from the Bukkit Website "craftbukkit" without the quotes.
  7. In your folder you should now have 2 files. "craftbukkit" jar file and "run" batch file.
  8. GnmzUJjpg
  9. Double click run.bat
  10. A black window will now pop up and start generating the server files inside your new folder, wait until everything is done generating then type "stop" in the console.
  11. Now your all set to go!

Port Forwarding

Note: Port forwarding allows other people to connect to your server via your external IP address. This can either be very easy or rather difficult depending on your router. More routers are easier to navigate around while others can be a pain in the neck.

  1. Once you have all the server files generated in your folder we are now ready to begin port forwarding.
  2. Click the start button at the bottom left hand corner of the screen and type "cmd" in the searchbox and press enter.
  3. A black box will appear, similar to the server console we opened earlier.
  4. In this black box type "ipconfig"
  5. Search around the box for something called your "Default Gateway"
  6. XfZeAljpg
  7. Take that number and plug it into your address bar.
  8. A box will appear asking for your username/password
  9. IleZzBpng
  10. Go to RouterPasswords.com and search up the password for your router type.
  11. Once logged into your router's website go to the "advanced" tab.
  12. QnWliRgpng
  13. Look for the option that says Port Forwarding/Triggering.
  14. Hit add service
  15. Put the service name whatever you want and put the starting/ending port at 25565 UDP and TC
  16. Now go back to the cmd console box and search for your Ipv4 address
  17. cFEgnpng
  18. Put that number into the server ip box at your router's website.
  19. Hit accept and save changes.

If you need additional help on port forwarding please go to PortForward.com and/or ask me.

To change your server name or details go to the server.propteries file in the new folder you created and edit it do not changes the server ip=.. leave it blank!

Now you are all done! You can connect to your server via "localhost" or with your ip on WhatIsMyIp.com

code:
java -Xmx1024M -jar craftbukkit.jar -o true
PAUSE
