Frustration and Addiction--Two Demons that Like to Play Together
We've all seen these two little demons make action at least once in our lives. In case you don't know how this goes, I'll tell you a story with these two little demons.
"UGH, I HATE THIS GAME!" "Ugh, this game is rigged!" "UUUGH this game is SO retarded!" These were all things that Jacob's mother heard coming from the living room. Jacob recently got a new game that he absolutely loved. He waited a week just to pull it out of the box and he was finally getting to play it. It was only a couple of days after starting that Jacob's mother started hearing such things. The constant growl in anger and frustration continued on and on until Jacob's mother finally decided to step in.
"Jacob, why don't you take a break from the game for awhile?" Jacob's mother kindly suggested.
"No, I don't want to, I'll get it next time for sure!" Jacob quickly spoke to get his mother off his back.
"Well, alright then," Jacob's mother sighed and continued with her work.
It wasn't even 5 minutes later that Jacob was groaning and yelling again. Jacob's mother sighed and went over to Jacob again.
"Jacob, take a break from the game. You need a break. After all, you've been playing for 3 hours already so..." Jacob's mother spoke.
"NO, mom, I'm FINE, alright!?" Jacob snapped.
It was after that that Jacob continued to play the video game. Jacob's mother sighed and she tried again.
"Jacob, get off of the game right. now." she ordered.
"JUST GO AWAY YOU'RE NOT HELPING AT ALL!!!!" Jacob yelled at his mom angrily.
Woah, that's a bit far. Disobedience and then yelling? At that point my own mom would've blown up if I did that. Here we can see the two demons, "Frustration" and "Addiction." Addiction here kinda hides a bit, but Frustration is very clearly seen. Now then, why don't we take a look at the definitions of Frustration and Addiction?
Addiction:
The fact or condition of being addicted to a particular substance, thing, or activity.
Okay then, well, let's look at "Addicted."

How Addiction and Frustration Can Affect Us
Well, first, how did it affect Jacob? Well, Jacob first didn't do what he was told due to addiction and then he yelled at his mom due to frustration. Can it get any worse than that? It sure can, my friends. Let's see "how low can you go" here:
1) Anger at friends/family for no reason at all
2) Not thinking straight (perhaps)
3) Carelessness
4) Harming people
5) Stress (sometimes, perhaps)
There's probably some other ways that it can affect us, but those are the ways that I could think of. Sometimes, even, it can change how we think when we get addiction and frustration. It may not happen to you, but it can happen. That's why we need to know how to deal with this. But before that, let's see some places we can see this.
Where Can We Find Frustration and Addiction
For sure we can find this on Minecraft Servers, and we can also find this on all kinds of websites. Have you ever seen someone cuss over getting killed? That means they're frustrated. Did they quit after cussing over getting killed? If they stood on that means they probably have a bit of addiction. (Most people though quit after getting killed, but there are some out there that will stick around. Also, just sticking around doesn't always mean that they're frustrated.)
We can even find the affects frustration and addiction on websites that aren't even with games, but we can't always know if they're frustrated, now can we? (Though we can maybe find out if we ask.) So pretty much, we can find it just about anywhere. Now then, let's see how we can deal with this all, shall we?
How Can We Deal With This?
When you are playing a video game and you constantly die over and over again, it gets frustrating, I know. Now, what we can do about this is...
1) Quit. Just quit. Stop playing. Pause the game, save if you can, and turn it off. Just turn the game off.
2) After turning the game off you can either switch to a different game you are sure you'll enjoy playing and you always have fun with or you can do...
3) Just leave. Go to your room and read something, take a nap, do something that gets it off your mind. Just get all the frustration out, and relax.
Now then. What you can do for others who are dealing with frustration is...
1) Cheer them up, encourage them to try playing a different game they'll enjoy, something like that.
2) If you're playing with them and they're getting frustrated, (this will especially work with younger kids,) just let them kill you for a bit. Act like you're trying hard to play but really just lost on purpose. It'll make then cheer up and it'll be fun again.
3) If you're playing with them and they're getting frustrated, (instead,) go ahead and do something else with them. Try to help them cool down, do something they enjoy doing, etc.
Now, some people you just can't help. They'll get mad and rude to you, they'll be jerks, and you just can't help them. If this happens, just let them be or talk to their parents about it or SOMETHING like that. (Even pray for them! Well, if you do the prayer thing, that is.) Also, there's probably some other things you could do for them, just those are the things I could think of. Well, that's the blog.
