What has happened to our community? [ Minecraft Rant ]

Greetings.

If you're new,or are just crazy in the game,turn back now,because this will have some pretty heavy stuff...

Remember that this is just MY opinion, And I will not judge you if your opinion is different,
you're free to tell your own opinions and experiences with the game.




The year of 2009,June 13 was Minecraft officially out,and playable.
It didn't start out very popular,but soon it would grow,and grow,
and it would eventually end up as the great game that we all know and love today...


But now,all suddenly,I just can't keep up anymore...

What happened to the kind,helpful, and strong community that we once had?

People have indeed changed, some for the best,and some for the worst...
I remember when I started playing,back in Beta 1.6.6.
I joined a server,not a very large one,I teamed up with some other people.
They were good people,they never treated someone disrespectfully,and were generous and kind.

What happened to That community?
Nowadays people are just selfish,and rude,
You can never really trust anyone...

As the game grew,the older players left,because of school,work and such.
But as the old ones left,The new ones came in...

And as hopefully most of you know,
The younger generation might not be as "mature"...
( Now,I don't mean to be rude,I know that most of you are good and mature,
  and knows how to behave,I've also been a young child once :) )

When the "younger generation" came in,the "griefers" also joined the party...
Some of those destroyed whole servers,for no reason!
I still kept playing for a while.But stopped when I just didn't have time to play. :(

Now I've returned and I'm now wondering,
What has happened to our community?

Let's Plays everywhere! shitty custom maps!
People idiotic enough trying to make videos on youtube because they want to play with some 
famous youtube guy!


...
What I just want to say is;


-What has our community become?

-Is it really worth playing with these people? 
(Thank god for singleplayer! :D )

-Will we someday get back Notch?

-What happened to the Yogscast? :c

Back in the old days a kid at my school had a private server that could only be joined by invitation. All of my friends were invited so i asked him if i could join and he let me. We built a little village in the spawn and a cave and I owned a small general store. The next year he was moving to a different to a different country and had to shut down the server and me and my friends had to play on one of the mainstream servers where all of the other players were just flying around screaming "RAGE DIAMOND BUDDER!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!" I miss the old minecraft so much :( .

Only things I hate about the new minecraft community are those people who call themselves Pros, but only thing that makes them ''Pro'' is their full diamond enchanted gear. All their houses make ma want puke every time I look at them. Also there are those places, outside of spawn protected area where people can start building. I call those places Wastelands. Why? Just look at em'. They look like some crap: Ugly buildings, a land that looks like someone blew up thousands of TNT there and of course, The so called ''Pros'' that run around with their full diamond gear, looking for, as they call them Noobs.
I have been playing the game since the start of beta and there is only one thing I have to say to the community now: Learn some goddamn manners!

I agree, but not about the versions. Jeb made minecraft better before all the textures we're light. There was no creative mode and no command blocks. Updates make game more customisable. But i agree about community. I joined at 1.0.0 official release. That was the time when servers we're really good. But they became more worst at 1.2, then the faction servers era started. But at time around 1.0.0 i liked that it was fun to play. There was so much to explore. I remember playing at a german server. Yes i know then i had no clue about their language, but i speaked in english back then, but not very well. At that server there we're jobs, big city with plots, many nice places to explore. Also i hate these people who who make new factions servers. If you are reading this and if you are owner of factions server then tell me why to make something that has been done over 10000 damn times. These servers make minecraft worst. Does it say at minecraft.net minecraft description: Join and be a asshole. Grief someones house. Make a crappy faction server? No it doesn't. I agree that minecraft is made so you can customise it and make your own gameplay, but faction servers are like a thing that ruins the game. They would be good if there we're only few of them, but they help griefers and trolls grow. And about Yogscast i want that they bring back shadow of israphel.

It's all just your perception. I was playing long before Beta 1.6.6 and it could be said it was like that already at that time. Anything this big will have its FAIR share of assholes. Welcome to planet earth.

Youtube channels have A LOT to do with it. Everyone thinks what they see on "TV" i.e. Youtube. Youtube channel get millions of views doing stupid stuff (won't name any names but you know who they are) and people just mimick that and think they are being funny.

I agree with you 100%.But I guess this is what happens to a game once it grows.I remember when I was younger and playing 1.7 and 1.8 beta, building grinders and setting up factions with other players and so on.Nowadays you can't go onto a server for more than 5 minutes without being killed or harassed.

In 1,3 the vannila minecraft servers were already going bad and rotten.Anyways during that period I turned to the technic pack and tekkit.I build a whole city there with skyscapers and oil fabricators and everything....
I had 10 people in my town and we all trusted each other and skyped each other.Nowadays you can hardly do that...

One thing that makes me angry is that now we just see a load of hub servers with the same minigames over and over again. I also wish people would make their own skins so we could see more originality and less "Sky does Minecraft" everywhere. Deny it if you want, but you know it's true.
