There is one line of code that I found a while ago that told alpha 1.0.0 to get code for herobrine aswell as the textures from a remote server so if u are freaked out by herobrine just play offline or just play the latest version

Actually herobrine is real people say you can't see him in day and im not sure if it's a key or what but it was pushing me faster than light medifore i dont' know how to spell medifore i just type that in.Eventualy it stopped and i heard footsteps and saw dirt move like when your sprinting and my iron golems were looking at the ground like how they stare at you when playing and then footsteps ran away to a village i had near me and then i thought well pee my pants and quit minecraft for a while :). crappy Explaining i know

Herobrine was actually the human mob in minecraft alpha 1.1 . due to the fact of far streaming his blue is erased from the screen.
