Hello Fellow PMC Blog readers,

Apparently, many of you use signs for decoration. For Chairs, plantpots, kitchens, everything..

After reading this blog you will be suprised how much better Item Frames are!

What are the benefits of Signs?

· * Signs dono t look bad. Woody, and quite regular. Most texturepacks dono t do special things with it.

· * You can put text on them[But mostly you dono t.. ito s for decoration!][Also, you can rename your chest aswello ¦]

· * They fill horizontally pretty the whole block.

· * Fits good with oak wood, fences and Grass.

· * Easier to get,costs less.

What are the benefits of Item Frame?

· * They fill more overall then signs.

· * Instead of signs, MULTIPLE Frames can be put on ONE block. (Excellent for chairs next to eachother

· * You CAN use them more as decoration, due the variation of items you can put in them, what you do faster than text as deco

· * Item Frameo s look good on any type of wood, cobble, grass.

· * You can use frames to show what is the purpose of the chest/room instead of saying it with letters. Way cooler! Use one with a bed with the bedroom, one with food for the dining room.. And make a good chest system with it!

· * Look overall in texturepack all pretty the same, while in some texturepacks Signs are used differently [As Example, RomeCraft]

· * Some more expensive. But most decorators have plenty resources, and play in creative anyway.

· * Can be placed for decoration for [Redstone]Torches, or levers.

What are disadvantages of Item Frames?

· WorldEdit or SinglePlayerCommands w/ WorldEdit does not copy/cut/remove Item Frames Properly.

· Having too many item frames in an area will cause lagg, since they are always classified as an entity.

Try out the techniques I mentioned above and you will see why item frames are SO MUCH BETTER!

NB: Comments and diamonds are much appreciated!

Creditsycoinc for the lagg idea.

Item frames don't look good on chairs, though... I hate item frame chairs D:
But it's good for some other stuff.

only issue is to many item frames in an area will cause lag since they are always classified as an entity... BUT that said they are more useful than signs at times :D
