Umm... It's not supposed to look like purple wool. This is what is called a minecraft transformation pack. It's used for builds in creative, not in survival. Think of it as a custom texture pack for a map, you don't use it for any other map. The villagers are pretty hilarious, though. All of the blocks aren't meant to look like the block they represent, just another building element.
