Compatibility with other datapacks has not been tested and this datapack likely only works on its own!
This *should* work in multiplayer but is not confirmed to be yet
The datapack is in a *very* early state of development, more spells might be added and some things may change or be further built upon later!
This is a datapack that adds a new spell-casting system to the game. You can craft rods, a new type of tool/weapon (like sword, pickaxe, etc) that is used to cast spells.
Crafting a Rod
To get started with the datapack's magic system, you can craft one of the following recipes:

These recipes, in order, make the Wooden Rod, the Stone Rod, the Gold Rod, and the Diamond Rod. Rods are tools used to cast spells.
How the Magic System Works
Spells can be obtained as items in your inventory, which means that these spells are also dropped upon death just like any other item. Each spell has a Magic Power. Look at this value; it tells you the minimum rod tier that can cast that spell. Spells have a lapis cost and an XP point cost. To cast spells, you need either enough lapis OR enough XP points for the spell to be cast.
When you want to cast a spell, put the spell item in your offhand, and hold your rod in your main hand. Then, you can right-click to cast the spell, at the cost of either lapis or XP. If you have both enough lapis and XP, the lapis you have will take priority over your XP.
Holding a rod in your main hand will also tell you the total amount of lapis in your inventory.

Obtaining Spells
In order to obtain a spell, you need to craft an Ancient Tome. There are 4 types of Ancient Tomes, all numbered, which all give you spells for the 4 tiers of rods respectively (I wanted to have a better way of obtaining them but couldn't figure anything out).
When you craft an ancient tome for a rod tier, hold it and right-click it. Doing this will give you a random spell for the ancient tome's specific rod tier (not spells on tiers below it).
