This has not been tested in multiplayer, but should work, as long as two players using the telekinesis rod at once don't go too close to each other.
The Telekinesis Rod is also fairly unstable if you use it on items or throwable (non-arrow) projectiles. Arrows work however, but you can't throw/shoot them back.
It is also slightly unstable with other things too. I am not the best datapack creator.
This datapack adds one very overpowered item:
This item can be crafted with the following recipe:
In the crafting table, it will just appear as a knowledge book (green book), but if you click on it, you will get the Telekinesis Rod. It will look like this when in the inventory:
When you right click on this while looking at a mob, animal, projectile (like arrows or snowballs), or any entity that's not a player, you will be able to move it by looking around, ignoring gravity. However, there is a limit of one mob at once per player.
Of course, you can release mobs picked up with it, by right clicking again, but this will automatically pick up a different mob if another one is within range. However, mobs picked up with it will be controlled by you even without holding the rod!
You can also pick up thrown/shot items like fireworks, items, or (more usefully) arrows from other players or mobs, however, for thrown/shot projectiles, it is very hard to both get the timing right and not accidentally pick up another mob nearby. Good luck trying to do that!
However, as mentioned before, you cannot pick up players themselves.
You can also alternatively do the following command (with the datapack installed obviously) to give yourself the telekinesis rod without having to make the recipe:
This took a while to both make and fix all of the bugs. Hope you enjoy messing around with it! Have fun!
(Please give credit (a direct link should be fine) if you are showcasing this datapack in a video. Do not claim that it is yours unless you are me, which you probably aren't).
