This datapack adds thirst to minecraft. It is represented by a blue bar above the hotbar. Drinking water bottles and potions, or eating soup, stew, melon, and berries can refill the bar. When the bar is full, it will slightly regenerate health and hunger (up to half). When dehydrated, you will become nauseated and start losing hunger quickly. Some ways of getting water are better than others.

Please, man, wherever you are, update this pack to 1.16 and make it possible to drink stews without being hungry so we can survive better in the Nether.

well i just add it myself, i also make them give you more thirst bars cause i hate carrying many bottles or one bottle with a bucket. Honey bottle will give you the same amount of bars as the water bottle

Is there a way to edit the thirst timer? so it doesn't need replenishing as often? and is there a way to have the thirst bar show all of the time constantly instead of intermittently

Hay loved the data pack, but saw that more people then me would enjoy a graphical overhaul for the thirst bar. (bottles of water, full/half/empty, right over the hunger bar)

So I went ahead and made one at :

This is a great idea but I just didn't like this because I could continually drink and drink and drink, no matter if it was full or not. Also did not like the fact my hunger never went down. Not even if I left my thirst go all the way down. Also as soon as your thirst hits bottom you get that wobble affect and get sick. I think it should go a bit at bottom before the affect kicks in. Maybe lose a heart or two then start with the affect. I had to remove it. I hope sometime there will be an enhancement made. If not, well it was still a nice idea.

Hey, I'm making a datapack that is supposed to be more realistic. Would you mind if I added this to my datapack? I would give credit.

The mod works great, but is there any way to customize where the bar can be placed, like moving it up slightly, or at the top of the screen, or even directly over the hunger bar (putting it over the hunger bar would be great)?

I have another mod installed that also puts a green bar exactly where the thirst bar is, and they flicked back and forth randomly, making it hard to know when my water is lower.

It would be nice if we could edit the regeneration of Health and Hunger too, because as long as I carry one Water Bottle and bucket of water, I essentially never need to eat. If you can't include a file to edit various perimeters, maybe have a separate mod that removes the healing affects of drinking?

Anyway, I have been using the mod for a week now, it's pretty fun!

Unfortunately I cannot move the bar on the HUD, but on your second note, I nerfed the amount of hunger and health given to the player, as well as the total amount of saturation certain items give you. Now it is very hard to survive off of water alone.

So I've been trying out the newer version, and it's definitely more difficult, but only because the thirst bar drains significantly faster. Water can still be used to fill the bar easily, but I've noticed that Stews provide the same amount of water, but they are way harder and time consuming to craft, plus they can only be used when your Hunger is lowered (they can't be consumed when your full). So basically, water bottles are the only way to manage the thirst meter in a reasonable way.

Maybe have crafted stuff like Stews provide a third or half the entire bar, while the water bottles only provide 1/10th?

Either way, the mod provides a nice challenge while I'm wandering about the Nether, I just wish the more complex fluid recipes sated more Thirst.

Weird that it can't be moved, but not a big deal. I'd rather have this mod enabled over the other one I was using.

I'll give the new version a try in a little bit; I should probably look up some liquid recipes ahead of time!~
