    Better Elytras

    Have you ever wanted better customization for your Elytras in Minecraft? Introducing an all-new way to express yourself in Vanilla Minecraft, Better Elytras adds several new features to vanilla elytras!

    Installation

    All you need to do to install this pack is properly add the datapack to your world and load it, and equip the resource pack!

    NOTE: This pack has only been tested on 1.21.5, however it should work on several of the newer versions.

    Features

    Dyeable Elytras

    Elytras can now be dyed using the same system as leather armor! Simply combine them in a crafting table with dye.


    Trimmable Elytras

    Elytras can now be trimmed with any of the vanilla armor trims! Our designs were inspired by the vanilla trims, but we added our own flair to them! Credit to @MiffenKop for the awesome trim textures.


    Secret Trims


    Secret Trims are a little something special we're going to add over time; There are currently three; They have secret crafting recipes, and replace the entire elytra. I'll let you discover how to find them!


    Secret Trim Hints
    The names of the current hints are Angel, Phantom, and Dragon. Hopefully this helps figure out what item you might need for the trim recipe...

    The official release of our long-experimental pack is finally here! v1.0 brings a lot of nice changes:
    • Added 2 new secret trims! These new elytra overlays are actually material-color dependent, unlike our original one! Hints for all secret trims can be found on the Smithed page.
    • Removed the leather chestplate dependency, allowing the pack to be uninstalled/installed cleanly in existing worlds with no issue!
    • Elytras can now be washed by tossing them into water or a water cauldron.
