This 1.16 datapack was created as a lightweight, non-intensive way to discourage theft. Unlike a chest-locking or land-claiming datapack, this datapack attempts to minimally affect gameplay.
This datapack is multiplayer compatible.

Features
Custom crafting
Craft a camera with 1 observer, 1 armor stand, and 1 book. The shape does not matter.
Ownership System
When you place down your camera, green particles will appear. This shows that you are the owner. For security reasons, only the owner is allowed to interact with their camera.
Recording
Cameras will turn to look at the nearest player within a 6 block spherical radius of it.
If it sees you open/break a container such as a chest, barrel, etc, it will record that interaction in the book it is holding (the camera log). The logs also record the world's day, time, and online players.
Camera Interactions
To take the camera log, right click your camera.
Place the camera log back on to the camera by right clicking it with the camera log.
Pick up your camera by right clicking it with a stick.

- Download the .zip file.
- Drop the file into .minecraft/saves/YOUR_WORLD_NAME/datapacks.

Bug fix:
Change:
- The message given upon right clicking a camera you do not own was not appearing.
Change:
- The not-owner message will say "The owner of this camera is offline" if the owner is offline.
- The log's item name is now yellow
- New logs no longer read *Invalid Tag* if it has recorded nothing
