Already tired of those holes and gaps ruining the surface? Now you’ll no longer be upset.
-Canyons are now rift valleys, rather than the stupid little gaps lying on the ground. They are longer, wider, and deeper, deep down to y:-20! Providing you a fast way to travel between different levels. Meanwhile, they are now pretty rare, making every encounter of yours impressive and rewarding. Get on the trip to find them!
-The caves will not mess with the surface that much now, as the entrances are narrower. The deeper you go, the bigger caves will be.
Enjoy your vacations on the ground and the adventures underground!
This datapack could be incompatible with other worldgen data packs.

This‘s my first datapack. I wanted something yet nobody could help me, so I did it myself.
Already tired of those holes and gaps ruining the surface? With this datapack, you’ll no longer be upset.
-Canyons are now rift valleys, rather than the stupid little gaps lying on the ground. They are longer, wider, and deeper, deep down to y:-20! Providing you a fast way to travel between different levels.
Meanwhile, they are now pretty rare, making every encounter of yours impressive and rewarding. Get on the trip to find them!
Take note that you will only find canyons in mountains, forests, savanna, badlands, and deep oceans. Realistic, innit?
-Aquifers are gone, for they’re as just annoying as the lakes(small ponds) in older generations. Now you’ll find glowing squids in the undersea canyons. Again, realistic!
-The caves will not mess with the surface that much now, as the entrances are narrower. The deeper you go, the bigger caves will be.
Enjoy your vacations on the ground and the adventures underground!
This datapack may only works on 1.18.2 and later versions, and it's not compatible with other datapacks that change the vanilla biomes.
For compatibility, choose the Alt version, in which the canyons can appear in all biomes. Make sure this loads first (put it above all other worldgen datapacks).
Further ideas:
-Make aquifers only appear in deep underground.
-Reduce the entrances on the ground.
You can add this into your modpack and videos, just don't forget to credit me.

Your problem seems weird, cuz I tested it on 1.18.2, 1.19.2, and 1.20, it worked well on all of them. Are you using other worldgen datapack? This works with Better Vinalla Biomes and Tectonic, others idk
