This datapack adds a new way of making charcoal!
To use it, make a pile of logs and completely encase it with blocks. Once it's airtight, remove one of the blocks, throw a torch onto a log, and replace the block (be quick! If the pyrolysing wood is open to oxygen, even for a second, it'll start a chain reaction that can destroy the entire pile.)
Wait one day/night cycle (20 minutes) for the pyrolysis process to finish. The logs will turn to charcoal blocks at a ratio of 1/2 to 1/3, which can be mined, dropping 0-6 charcoal each.
This datapack is inspired by the Terra Firma Craft mod.

2 Update Logs
v1.2 : by 4P5 02/06/2021 2:01:12 pmFebruary 6, 2021 @ 7:01 pm UTC
- Fixed bug where mining charcoal blocks left a marker behind.
- Each wood block will now check to make sure it's not touching air before converting. This way it won't try to convert your house.
- You can now drop a torch on the lowest block, and the chain reaction will continue up! It previous stopped at one block up.
- Changed drop rate to 1-7 per block

Have something to say?
Because I found an awesome way, but unfortunately it doesn't work in the version I play
