Smash a raw chicken and a glass bottle with a downwards-facing piston to create a bottle of chicken paste (gives 0:30 of Hunger I if consumed).
Place one or more bottles of chicken paste in lava to deep-fry them. Each bottle will cook for 10 seconds. Once it is done cooking, if an iron trapdoor is directly above the lava, each bottle of chicken paste will become 3 chicken nuggets (each restores 5 hunger and 6 saturation when consumed).
Redstone can be used to make an automatic chicken nugget machine. (I'm not very good at redstone, but my attempt at one is shown above.)
