Required Resource Pack
23
A datapack that adds currency items created from emeralds.
Emeralds can be converted 1 to 1 into the lowest value currency item, the "Cuprine".
Cuprines can be used to trade with villagers as one would use emeralds. The functionality of emeralds remains untouched.
Currency items can be converted into different denominations using the 2x2 crafting grid.
4 Cuprines = 1 Tetracuprine
4 Tetracuprines = 1 Ferrine
etc.
Higher denominations cannot be traded with villagers, and need to be converted down first, but are useful for storage, or trading with players.
Limitations:
The higher denomination currency items replace pottery sherds. If a pot is created accidentally (or if one wishes to turn found sherds into money), one can break down sherds into 4 currency items, the same way one would break down larger denominations.
(In the same way, but backwards, one can convert currency to pots, and reclaim the sherds)

Updated data and resourcepack to work with 1.21.8
Existing emerald currency may need to be converted to the new format, simply by crafting down/up into another coin value. Recipes remain unchanged.
(Note: Works really well with the "new" bundles. Never run out of emeralds again when trading!)

Have something to say?
i want to use this for my economy starter villages but emerald based currency is quite volatile so im considering modding this datapack to add the extra denomination & make it netherstar/farming based; if were following standard mc pricing guide something like:
4 amethyst cluster ¥96
1 nether star ¥3000
1 emerald block ¥900
1 Bottle o enchanting ¥100
for a ¥4096 (diamond) cuprine
A few tips:
I've noticed emerald currency mainly suffers from inflation thanks to string dupers earlygame and raidfarms lategame, so I run my server with vindicator emerald drops disabled. Getting a grand netherine (16384 emeralds) then takes a lot of work, and most trading happens around the tetraferrine (64 emeralds a piece) stage.
Netherstars tend to go at 1 to 3 grand aurines a piece (so, about 1000 to 3000 emeralds), though with wither farms that drops down significantly to about a tenth.
With one stack of grand netherines, you'd be able to carry just over a million emeralds in one slot. If using shulkers, that would be 28.3 millions. (No player has gotten a stack of em so far)
The reason for not including a diamond tier between gold and netherite is because diamond isnt a metal, and setting a gemstone in a gemstone does seem a bit odd to me. Personal preference tho.
yeah in vanilla play you wont need that much cash but ive been looking for a good integration of a kingdom/city based mod to support selling plots /buildings
well its mc, diamond/gold armor also makes little sense
I'll do some more testing before upload tho.
Maybe once we get datapack support for trade lists I can do that.
