Elder Guardian Improvements Datapack

This Data-pack gives back some of the glory to the Minecraft mob - elder guardian. Along with it's original abilities it now drops a heart of the sea when killed and gives you blindness and weakness within a short range so be careful when doing melee attacks. It will also periodically send a shockwave pre-indicated by the angry heart particles and then bubble particles when activated. When activated all players withig blindness range of the elder.g will automatically take damage



Now that the guardian drops the heart of the sea though, the Burried treasure map contains a nautilus shell instead.

New version 1.1: fixed a bug with the popup message not appearing upon loading and the guardian effects not being applied

Nice data pack but it would be better if the elder guardian shockwave causes the guardian to float (with levitation) for a very short amount of time and then the elder guardian would fall back down causing the shockwave and dealing damage. It would also be cool if the shockwave happened at half hp but it would be much stronger while making tons of particle effects. This is just my opinion though so you won't have to add on if you're not up for it. I could potentially code it in but it would be considerably more difficult for me since I'm not a data pack coder like you. But with that out of the way, this is an amazing data pack and I'm looking forwards to seeing more like these that influence mobs.

these sounds like all great ideas... Unfortunately I don't plan on updating/supporting this pack for a while so I can work on finishing my new minecraft map.

Is it possible to make this be compatible with VanillaTweaks' more mob heads datapack?

right now it currently isn't... vanilla loot-tables currently cannot be merged w/ eachother which makes for an annoying experience, compatibility wise.

If you looked into data-packs more you could manually combine the loot tables but I'm not going to help with that sadly. I can only recommend watching some YouTube bout it to get yourself started

This is exactly what Heart of the Sea should have been used for. To encourage finding these structures and getting 2 Hearts at a time. Fantastic.

I agree full except don't you get 3 hearts because the temple has 3 guardians????
