A datapack that allows you to:



1. Craft mob spawners

The crafting recipe is a nether star with 4 diamond blocks surrounding it



2. Get mob eggs from mobs

By default, there's a 1/400 chance that a mob egg is actually dropped

With looting, this chance increases (Looting 3 = 1/250)

It'll be a real grind to actually get the spawn eggs that you want

Snow golem, Iron golem, the Wither and the Ender Dragon are excluded since they do not have a spawn egg

Every other mob is included (also the new nether mobs in 1.16)

Keep in mind that this pack is not compatible with other packs that edit loot tables for mobs

If there are certain things that do not function correctly in this datapack, please let me know

Mobs aren't spawning? Some mobs need a certain block to spawn on or are only spawnable in the nether



How to install:

1. Download the .zip

2. Goto your minecraft world folder and place the .zip in the datapacks folder

3. Unzip the .zip file (i don't know why it doesn't work when it's zipped)

4. Reload your world and now it should work

can u help me when i try to copy the pack into the world folder it says that i cant copy it maybe im just dumb but u need to copy it to data packs right

You need to copy or cut it to the datapacks folder, yes. What error message pops up when you try to copy it?

It’s a very good suggestion, don’t you think it might be a little too hard to craft though? Keep in mind that the spawn eggs are a real grind to get as well :). I’ll definitely take note of it though. How does it sound to add netherite ingots to the corners instead of blocks?

I second the notion that the netherite blocks are a good addition. I think Rupuziukas is thinking that the spawners are a priviledge, something to be sought after for long periods of time. It all comes down to personal preference, but for them and I, having the spawners be something we can out in an insane amount of work for end game makes things worth it. It will make every spawner that we get special, and getting multiple spawners will feel like real progression. The blocks arent too difficult to get late game anyways. At the late game, one could spend a couple of hours building another spawner, which means they will take special care in using them.

Sorry for the late response, let me say that first. I must say that you and Rupuziukas do have a point in terms of late game progression and that it’s, after having questioned the balance quite a few times, very balanced. I will definitely add the blocks to the corners asap :). Thanks for the suggestion!
