For me as minecraft "pro" i think that elytra is just too easy to get, there's no problem in getting it, so i added Elytra Recipe to make it fair and balanced
at first i created this datapack for my server, but i decided to publish it here

Adds:
  • Better end ship
  • Instead of Elytra in end ships there's now spawns Elytra Core
  • Elytra recipe
Elytra Recipe:
  • 2 Netherite ingots
  • 2 Netherite scraps
  • 2 Diamond blocks
  • 1 Nether star
  • 1 Elytra Core
Now in end ship you can also find strength and regeneration potion aside from instant healing potion
