A datapack giving you a whole new way to experience Minecraft! World generation has been modified to include tons of snow and ice, and the Overworld is overhauled with 15 new biomes (some of which are sub-biomes) to turn your Minecraft world into a wintery wonderland! This datapack also comes with 13 new advancements to find ways to spend your holiday.

One of the most notable features in this datapack are the mountain and peak biomes, which raise new biomes in the game high above the rest of the world. These biomes have transitional sub-biomes to make mountains generally smoother rather than erratic, but sheer cliffs are still common. The Nether and The End have been slightly modified as well.

How to Use: To use this datapack, download this datapack, then add this pack to a world BEFORE creating it (it won't work if you try to add it to a world that already exists). Typing a seed into the seed field is recommended for better random generation. Since this modifies world generation and is not a preset world, the snowy wonders you see expand all the way to the world border.

You can treat this datapack as a whole new adventure and complete all of its advancements, or simply play Minecraft how you normally do, just with this datapack's wintery theme. Whatever the case, I hope you have fun playing a Minecraft world with this datapack for the holidays!

Update v1.1 : by WillYoward 12/23/2020 7:27:23 pmDecember 24, 2020 @ 12:27 am UTC

  • Changed the "Cozy Cabin" advancement to activate when a player opens an Igloo Basement chest instead of when they enter an Igloo.

  Have something to say?

Inceredible! I love these mountains! I hope 1.17 will bring something similar.
However, I'd really like to know how did you make <some>_mountains surround <some>_peaks? I'm trying to figure out how to make "valley" surrounded by mountains.

The foothills biomes have a small amount of altitude, and altitude is almost always the only parameter that changes between a foothills and mountains biome (same for the peaks biomes). So if you want a biome to intersect two other biomes (hypothetically, such as a Dusty Valley between a Sandy Mountain and a Rocky Mountain), you just need to set all of the Dusty Valley's parameters in between the Sandy Mountain and the Rocky Mountain. If the Sandy Mountain has a temperature of 0.5 and a weirdness of -0.25, and the Rocky Mountain has a temperature of 0.1 and a weirdness of 0.25, then the Dusty Valley's temperature should be between 0.5 and 0.1, and its weirdness should be between -0.25 and 0.25. I hope that answers your question.

How common are the new biomes, I don't want to search for them in a new world

I made them common enough that it won't take long to find any biome you're searching for.
