Hammer datapack by Escartem

Here is a new datapack that I made wich adds a powerful hammer to your game.

First, I just want to say that I know there is a lot of Hammer data packs and it's not very original but I wanted to do that so here it is!



Installing the datapack

To install the datapack you will need :
  1. Download the zip file on the project page
  2. Unzip it and inside you will find two other zip files
  3. Unzip the datapack file and put the 'Hammer' folder in the 'datapack' folder inside your world
  4. Unzip the resource pack file and add it in the 'ressourcepacks' folder in your game folder
  5. Activate the resource pack in the game options and load your world with the datapack
  6. Have fun!


Crafting the hammer


To craft the hammer, you will need :
  • 1x Obsidian
  • 1x Stick
  • 2x Gold Nuggets
  • 3x Blocks of Iron
And place them like so :

Using the hammer
When you have the hammer, here is what you can do with it


First, if you hold the hammer in your hand, you will have :
  • 10 more hearts
  • Jump boost IV
  • Speed II
  • Slow Falling II


The hammer has the following enchantments :
  • Bane of Arthropods V
  • Fire Aspect II
  • knockback II
  • Mending I
  • Smite V
  • Unbreaking III

If you right-click with the hammer in your hand, you will summon a lightning bolt where you are looking, the maximum range is 25 blocks and there is a 5 seconds cooldown for this ability.

If you shift the nearest entity will have a glowing effect and if you right-click while shifting you will be teleported to that entity, this ability has a 12 seconds cooldown.

Notes :

The nearest entity will only be highlighted when the teleportation ability is ready.

The cooldown bars will only be shown when the player holds the hammer



This data pack is NOT compatible with multiplayer.

If you are interested in how I made the hammer works, I left some small notes in the functions to understand a little bit better.

The hammer model is by me, you can use it and modify it but keep my name in the credits if you do so.

the model and the effects worked fine, but the cooldown bars never filled. do you have to be in creative mode for it to work?

This is weird, did you try using it in creative mod and without any other datapacks and using the correct version ?

Can you try in 1.15 ? I don't exactly remember if It was compatible with 1.14 since I made this almost a year ago.
