    I love fishing, and I love the Nether, so I added fishing to the nether.


      This pack adds several layers of custom items and mechanics without sacrificing the vanilla fishing experience. With this pack you can craft the crimson bow, Netherscope (improved spyglass), and pouches (nether bundles) like my other packs, but you can also craft the Twisted Rod in this pack. You will need to craft the Twisted rod in order to fish in lava, it's expensive enough to require significant nether exploration before crafting in survival.

      Like vanilla fishing, you may only fish up to 32 blocks away. I have not tested multiplayer compatibility, the 32 block distance should be the only potential issue, please let know if (and how) you break it, or keep this in mind if you don't like to break things. The bobber is not meant to float on lava in this version.

      You can obtain a variety of fish from the nether lakes, and you can also catch nether themed items. Ancient tablets have a chance of giving you better enchantments than enchanted books. Lava-Fishing in non-nether dimensions is not very rewarding, bust still offers a low chance of diamond, and might be useful if you're low on coal. Fishing in the warped forest biome gives the best chance at the best loot. Netherfish do not need to be cooked before consumption. You can also obtain the Molten urchin from fishing in the nether which leaves an area of effect cloud wherever it's thrown. Fire, wither, instant damage. Will not ignite blocks.

    Try (most of) the features and items by using custom commands:

    execute run function infernal_fishing:craft

    execute run function infernal_fishing:cheat

      You may also want to upgrade your flint and steel, brush, or shears to netherite with the upgrade just like other netherite items. The Netherscope gives the user night vision and take's place of the spyglass. It is more difficult to craft, but actually does something (kinda) useful.

    Is that too much stuff for you? Do you only want the primary lava fishing mechanic without other stuff?

    Hey, I spotted this datapack earlier, but it wasn't functional by your packaging mistake. The .zip folder must lead directly to the /data folder as well as the pack.mcmeta info, but there's a folder too many inbetween for the game to recognize the Datapack.

    I love the idea of this pack, but do you have a list of recipes for the items or do you just use commands to spawn them in?

    Yeah, I may have a plan to add some of the fish to the nether lakes, but I'm still playing with some other features. One of the things I really wanted to add was a throwing spear (custom trident), but I can't retexture the trident because the model is hardcoded so it would need to be a full model replacement item unfortunately. Thought about rolling with it and taking tridents from the drown and giving spears to husks, then of course adding a better spear through other mechanics, but I'm still on the fence about it. I really appreciate it, I am proud of the textures. Added :)
