this datapack adds item modifiers and armor set bonuses (inspired by terraria obviously)
there are modifiers for both melee and ranged weapons
melee weapons include tools, weapons and the trident
ranged weapons include bows and crossbows
- when holding an item (and also equipping it in the case of elytras) you get a random modifier on it (tiers and modifiers are listed at the bottom)
- if by any chance this modifier is not what you wanted you can reroll it using a weaponsmith villager
- armor set bonuses are pretty self explanatory; you equip an armor set, you get bonus effects
(a sane person would not want to reroll this)
- first you need a weaponsmith (-> this cool guy with the eyepatch)
- the weaponsmith won't be using a grindstone and instead you'll need him to go near a smithing table. once that's done you've successfully set up your reforging station!!
- you can also find reforging stations in most villages
- drop a weapon/tool/elytra on the smithing table and wait for the villager to go near it (you can see he's near the item once he has the item in his hand as shown in this image below)
like that - and now you can enter the trade menu
here you will see all the normal trades of a weaponsmith + 1 extra trade which requires amethyst shards and reforges your item (rerolls the modifier)
the price scales with the tier of your item and the tier of your item's current modifier
for example, this cool legendary netherite sword of mine costs 56 amethyst shards to reforge (but again there's no reason to reforge it) - oh yeah one more important thing to keep in mind is after each reforge you have to exit and enter the trading menu (the prices only refresh if you do this)
(you can see an X on the arrow after each reforge but once you refresh the trading menu it will disappear)
(also you can reforge indefinitely so no need to worry about that) - also i forgot to mention, the command to reroll your modifier is /function modifier:reforge

ARMOR SET BONUSES
- leather -> +15% movement speed, immune to slowness
- iron -> +0.3 attack damage, +1 armor, +5% projectile speed
- golden -> +0.1 attack speed, attacker's hand items get extra durability damage
- chainmail -> +20% movement speed, +8% projectile speed, successful fully charged shots consecutively increase damage by 2%, up to 16%
- diamond -> +0.6 attack damage, +0.25 attack speed, dodge next attack after striking an enemy (20 second cooldown)
- netherite -> +3 armor, +6 armor toughness, +20% knockback resistance, 10 second immunity to fire damage (standing on magma block/campfire prevents the timer from resetting!)

hello
this is a really important bugfix update! it fixes the following:
- reforging elytras not working properly (previous modifiers stayed)
- village reforge station smithing tables not always generating
- /function modifier:reforge function not supporting ranged weapons and not working as intended overall
- picking up weapon generated on reforging station smithing table not getting a modifier
- some modifiers displaying the wrong information
- some armor set bonuses being unclear
it also adds 3 new modifiers for the elytra:
- unlucky (-1.5 luck)
- lucky (+1 luck)
- blessed (+2.5 luck)

not sure when it'll be done but its gonna be cool
i am unsure, however, whether or not i should keep this older, less optimized version. so now i'm asking you this question: do i update this page/datapack or create a separate submission for the remastered version?
