This datapack introduces a new weapon: the laser gun
Info about the laser gun:
- it shoots straight (projectiles are not affected by gravity), so it is extremely accurate
- the projectiles move very fast (~167 blocks per second)
- it has an infinite range as long as the chunks are loaded
- it ignites the point of impact and the entities the projectile passes through
- one shot deals a large amount of damage (a little bit more than 10 hearts without armor), example: you will kill a zombie with no armor in one shot, but you will need 2-3 shots if it is wearing a full netherite armor
- one shot can pass through a large number of entities (in the presentation video I shoot through 100 iron golems)
- it can shoot arrows and two other custom projectiles
Info about projectiles:
- shooting a normal or tipped arrow will have all the effects mentioned above
- shooting a laser charge will have all the effects mentioned above but will also cause an explosion on impact
- shooting a large laser charge will have all the effects mentioned above but will also cause a large explosion on impact
- shooting a spectral arrow will not have any effect of the laser gun, it will be shot normally as with a normal crossbow (spectral arrows are not meant to be fired with the laser gun)
Other info:
- the gun works like a crossbow, to load it you have to right click, then you click again to shoot.
- you will find the recipes for the gun and the laser charges in the image gallery
- ressource pack is optional but highly recommended
- to hit an entity, you must be at least 1 block away from it. If you are closer than 1 block when you shoot then the projectile will pass through the entity without dealing any damage
