This datapack adds a wide variety of different magical weapons and staves into the game, alongside two new classes of melee weapons, two ranged weapons and emerald tools! I wanted to add more variety to the weapons that already exist in Minecraft, while still allowing the existing weapons to stay powerful and reliable!
None of the weapons are found, and all are crafted. The second image shows the crafting recipes for each weapon, but please be aware that they will appear as a green book when crafting due to datapack limitations.
Magical abilities (right clicking) can be used on many of the weapons and all of the staves. This will consume some XP, depending on how powerful the ability is. There are some exceptions. For example, the wither scythe causes the user to sacrifice some of their own health instead of using XP.
Hammers will actually slow the player's movement speed slightly, and take even longer to swing than axes. However, they not only deal more damage, but can be enchanted like a sword! Daggers are incredibly fast, only slightly slower than fists. However, they deal a lot less damage!
Any magical weapon with a magical (right click) attack does not lose durability through use, but also cannot be enchanted! All other weapons can still be enchanted as usual.
Emerald equipment is also not very useful on it's own. It functions similarly to stone tools. However, it will increase your luck when held! I'd recommend pairing with another datapack that re-works luck to make them more powerful!
One of my biggest inspirations for this project were games like Terraria, which have a massive variety of cool weapons and magic staves, each with their own unique powers. Crafting these powerful weapons is no small task. Some of them require expensive materials, but in turn are incredibly powerful in certain situations!
I've put a lot of effort into creating both interesting and balanced weapons, but feel free to let me know if any are over/underpowered!
All models were also created by me.
This datapack had a previous version, but was accidentally deleted! Just in case you've seen it before. The previous version had over 7,000 views and over 1,000 downloads. Thank you for the support!
