Simple Level=Border Datapack
Anleitung (Deutsch):
Einfach das Datenpaket in den Datapack-Ordner einer neuen Welt ziehen. Dann die Map erstellen und joinen. Es wird eine Worldborder um dich herum geben. Die Level aller Spieler werden addiert. Für jede ganze Levelstufe vergrößert sich die Border um einen Block (0,5 Blöcke in jede Richtung). Um den Mittelpunkt der Worldborder manuell einzustellen, nur an die gewünschte Position in der Welt gehen (Spectator Mode) und den Befehl "/function levelborder:start" ausführen.
Anmerkung: Es kann passieren, dass keine Mobs außerhalb der Border spawnen.
Instructions (English):
You only have to drag the datapack in the datapack folder of a new world. Then create an join the map. There will be a worldborder around you. The levels of all players are added together. For every whole level the border enlarges by one block (0.5 blocks in every direction). You can manually set the center of the world border by going to the desired location in the world (spectator mode) an executing the command "/function levelborder:start".
Note: It may happen that no mobs spawn outside the border.
The datapack is inspired by a challenge of the german youtuber BastiGHG.

schade, dass es bei dir nicht funktioniert. Versuche mal der Server neuzustarten bzw. die Welt neu zu betreten und und /reload zu machen. Lade dir das Datapack vielleicht nochmal runter und schaue, dass du es richtig in der Ordnerstruktur platziert hast. Es kann zudem sein, dass es in der neusten Verion nicht korrekt funktioniert. Das Mobspawning ist leider nicht perfekt zu beheben mit einem Datapack.
When i put the datapack in my Server World datapack folder, put the server to 1.20 and join, nothing is there and /function levelborder:start doesn't work either. How can i fix it?

you have to restart the server and do /reload. If that doesn´t work, try to download the datapack again to make sure the download is alright. Then it should work.
