*Disclaimer!! When I made this pack I did not know what I was doing and many function files are inefficient and overcomplex. I may or may not update/make a new version of this datapack that is more efficient and simple. You may still download and use this one, just know that this datapack is not very efficient. I would suggest against using this in real worlds you care about. (not that it will destroy your world or anything (it actually might, it depends how you define "destroy") but you might get more lag and find a few weird glitches/quarks). USE AT YOUR OWN RISK

After the resource and data pack are installed load into your minecraft world and do /reload. Then in creative or spectator mode do /tag @p items

You should also make melon seeds smeltable and edible as one of the Chinese New Year tradition is to eat cooked melon seeds.

How do you get the food? I have the resource pack and the datapack is enabled but how do I get it?

After you have installed the resource and data pack load into your world and do /reload.
Then go into creative or spectator mode and do /tag @p items
