Hey you should really check out this datapack
The Eldritch Horror is a custom Minecraft boss fight made to fill in the lack of true bosses that some feel.
This is the third datapack I have made, if you have any suggestions feel free to put them in replies
This datapack fully supports multiplayer, however it may not function with some other datapacks.
This datapack can work with on of my other ones but not both at the same time.
I will however combine all of my datapacks into one very soon.
It does not work on 1.13 or the current 1.16 snapshot.
The installation process goes like any other datapack, if you want more information check installation.txt found in the files
The datapack includes a new very difficult boss battle meant for after beating every other boss before. It also includes a new mob that will spawn in Dark Oak Forests, a drop for said mob, a spawn egg for said mob. An item used to summon the boss mob, a new player built structure to summon the boss mob, and a VERY powerful sword that if enchanted with sharpness IV or higher, can one-shot 20 health mobs without the need of a critical hit.

When going through the Dark Oak Forests at night, a player might find a Shadow Beast, these mobs have 30 HP and will blind players in a seven block radius from it.
These mobs have a 60% chance to drop a Shadow Horn, which is necessary to summon the Eldritch Horror, and will also give the advancement page Eldritch Horror. The mobs can also be summoned by getting a spawn egg, which can be gained by using "/function give:spawn_shadow_beast" as can every other item in this datapack.
To summon the Eldritch Horror, you will need to drop 9 Shadow Horns on a lectern to create the Shadow Altar. The Shadow Altar cannot be moved when placed, so put it in a place you will never move it away from.
You will then need to create an Evil Infused Nether Star, which is created by throwing 2 Shadow Horns and a Nether Star on the ground
Throw the Evil Infused Nether Star near the center of the Shadow Altar and get ready for a very difficult fight.

Recommended gear to use during the fight:
- Bow with enchantment table level 3 enchants
- 3 stacks of arrows
- Diamond sword with enchantment table level 3 enchants
-Full diamond gear with enchantment table level 3 enchants
-7 totems of undying
-16 Golden Apples
This boss will take a significant amount of durability away from your armor, try to keep as much distance away from it as you can. Use the bow the most.
Attacks:
The Eldritch Horror can:
Shoot lasers at the player (frequent)
Summon an area effect cloud that will wither the player (frequent)
Deal 20 damage if you get in it's melee range
Summon a Shadow Beast (common)
Summon an area effect cloud of the angered villager particles, that if the player stands in for too long, will instantly kill the player (goes through totems)
It cannot despawn, and it has 600 HP
Upon defeat, the horror will drop The Bane of Evil Blade, a sword that has 17 base damage, gives the player 5 extra hearts when held, and also gives the player a 50% speed boost when held.

As said before, there are 4 advancements that can be gained going through the datapack.

A datapack with all of my ones made so far will come out soon so you can kill the Eldritch Horror with The Flare Cannon from the Nether War Hog or with the Royal Bow from the Royal Skeleton. This datapack will also support multiplayer.
