Neoforge/Forge supports this natively.

🚒 Makes Campfires initially unlit when crafted in a workstation
🔥 Drop a Torch (or Soul Torch) to light unlit campfires and soul campfires

💀 Drop a Soul Sand (or Soil) in a lit campfire to convert it into a soul campfire
🚧 Soul torches will only light either type of campfire, they will not convert normal campfires to soul campfires

🌋 Drop a magma block to light a campfire, but unlike torches, it will not be consumed

This doesn't give a new texture to unlit campfire items, that is outside the scope of this pack and it seems like it would save resource pack makers trouble to just set it to unlit.

Also this will only work for 1.19.x and below, 1.20.x changes the "alternative" predicate type to "any_of" (which is much easier to remember, genuinely thank you Mojang), which means when NBT Crafting updates to 1.20.x I'll need to make a second version.

The only difference between the Quilt/Fabric and Neoforged/Forge versions is NBT Crafting uses the word "data" instead of "nbt", so I have to include two nearly identical .zips due to this lack of parity. Which probably means I'll need to ship 4 versions when NBT Crafting updates to 1.20.x :blobcatsigh:
