WARNING: Netherlands is an EXPERIMENTAL WORLD GENERATION DATAPACK that is subject to change. Because of this, make sure that you UPDATE the datapack every time a new version comes out.
This datapack works in version 1.16.5. The current version may break in the future and will most likely break in past versions.
With that out of the way;
Welcome to Netherlands datapack v1.1 by FireNH! This datapack adds 5 new original biomes to the Nether, and 5 variants to original biomes. It makes exploring the Nether much more interesting to explore. In addition, since this datapack is based off of my other datapack Taller Nether, all of the biomes generate 256 blocks high, making the dimension as a whole feels a lot more expansive. As of right now, there aren't any custom structures, but once I learn how they work I'll certainly add them!
This datapack was inspired by Starmute_'s Incendium Datapack. I suggest you check it out! Unfortunately, they aren't compatible due to how custom dimensions' biome sourcing works.
The new original biomes added are:
The Deadlands: A creepy, toxic wasteland populated by skeletons and wither skeletons, with Petrified Fungi dotting the landscape. The fog here is yellow; I wonder why.
The Frozen Forest: While everything else in the Nether is hot, the Frozen Forest is the only thing that is still cold. Here you can find Frozen Fungi, fungi made of Ice, Snow, and Basalt. This biome is also a great source of Redstone.
The Fungal Jungle: The only place in the Nether where both Warped and Crimson fungi live in harmony. It sometimes exists as a buffer between Crimson and Warped forests.
The Igneous Cove: The lava of the Nether doesn't stay hot forever. The Igneous Cove is a land full of igneous rocks (cooled lava) such as Granite, Blackstone, and Basalt, as deltas meander between the shelves.
The Lava Ocean: A huge lava lake, big enough to be an ocean. It's pretty much barren of life, however it's sanctuary for Striders.
The new variant biomes added are:
The Crimson and Warped Plains: A less dense version of the Nether Forests. They are very easy to navigate. They generate near their Forest Variants.
The Gravel Wastes: A rare variant of Nether wastes made up of Gravel and Granite.
The Crimson and Warped Marshlands: A Fungal Forest saturated with Lava, Magma, and Fire, also with occasional Basalt formations.
Please leave a comment if you have any biome or structure ideas! I don't yet know how custom structures/jigsaws work but when I figure it out I'll add some!
If you want the Nether to have a custom seed, you need to modify the JSON file for the Nether Dimension. Read the Installation Instructions to see how to do that.

The tools I used to make this were Misode's Minecraft Generators (https://misode.github.io/) and Nick's Datapack Generator (don't remember where I downloaded it from but you can google it if you want I guess)
Thanks for checking out my datapack! Feel free to use it anywhere, just give me credit pls if you do :P

1. Unzip the zipped folder called "firenh-netherlands-v1-1-unzip-me"
2. (OPTIONAL) To change the seed, navigate to Netherlands v1.1 -> data -> minecraft -> dimension -> nether.json and open it in a text editor. Find the two fields called "seed", and change them to your NUMERIC world seed. If you skip this step, the Nether dimension will generate with the seed 0 every time you load the datapack in a new world, regardless of the world seed.
3. Drag the folder called "Netherlands v1.1" into your datapack folder or datapack selection screen.
4. (OPTIONAL) If you are adding this datapack to a pre-existing world and you want to reset your Nether dimension back to default, find your save folder and delete the folder called "DIM-1" (Don't delete the folder called "DIM1"; that's the End). If you skip this step your Nether will be untouched in pre-loaded chunks, but it will gain new biomes and generate taller in new chunks. If you are adding this to a world, it is now experimental and can't be safely downgraded.
