Did you ever think that having a villager trading the Mending enchantment is way too much?
Once you bred one librarian who sells these books, you have no need to ever make a new piece of gear, so diamonds, enchanted books and even netherite gets pretty worthless because a tool will last forever.
Mending was introduced because the anvil repair cost rise to hell after some repairs and the librarian trading system was introduced as counterpart for random table enchantments.
Mojang tried to adress this issue with the "Villager Trade Rebalance", but this requires you to find rare biomes and move your villagers there.
This datapack prohibits librarians to sell treasure enchantment books, including Mending! They are unobtainable on the enchanting table, and now on librarians. You can still obtain them from chests or fishing, but not farm them.
At one time your gear will be too expensive to repair, meaning that you need a supply of enchantments for new tools (from villagers or enchanting) and materials. You have to be careful when fighting or mining that you don't waste your worthy gear for unnecessary actions.

Have something to say?
If you apply other enchantments to a repair book, they will be applied to the item even if they can't be applied in vanilla Minecraft (Harrow Sharpness, Explosion Resistance + Defense, and basically any enchantment). Could you fix this somehow? Thank you very much.
Mending should only show up in ancient city chests, makes sense.
XP is all over the deep dark, the ancient city is a very hard place to loot. Mending would fit there and increase in value.
I miss how we cherished our gear more back in the day
This pack is really great, and I'll definitely maybe use it in the future.
