This datapack removes the ugliest and most useless type of tree! The birch tree! It replaces every birch tree in a radius of 10 blocks with an oak tree, one of the most useful type of trees and one of the best looking. The datapack is only compactible with 1.19.4

Birch trees are one of the easiest to harvest. If this datapack converts existing birch trees in to oak, does it do a simple replacement of one log type for the other log type ?

If so, are you able to instead create brand new oaks, so that large oaks are generated instead ? Large Oak trees are hard to harvest, but they look nice, so it makes sense to leave them alone and untouched while playing the game.

Perhaps it is best to simply DELETE the entire birch forest biome (also old growth birch forest) and update the remaining biomes.json files to remove birch as a feature .

Currently there is this in the forest.json file within the worldgen folder : minecraft:trees_birch_and_oak



This can be replaced with minecraft:oak , I think. I'm not sure as I do not know how to distinguish the oak.json in the worldgen\configured_feature folder versus the same filename within the worldgen\placed_feature folder.



There are two since one describes how to build the trees, and the other tells the game how to handle the oak sapling from a predicate perspective.



Nevertheless, good luck in tweaking this datapack !

Wow, I have never seen this comment, I cannot believe it, thank you. In regards to your question, this datapack uses the fill command to replace birch logs and leaves with oak, I was experimenting with datapacks when I uploaded this one which is why it is so basic.

Read the signs in the first pic, birch trees in a radius of 10 by 10 blocks will turn to oak trees, so any tree further than that will stay birch until you get close, and also i respect your opinion about birch looking ok, but i also don't.
