One Block Challenge – Minecraft Datapack

One Block Challenge is the ultimate survival test for players who want to experience Minecraft in a completely new way. You start in a world where you stand on a single block, surrounded by a world border. There is no land, no safety—just you and this one block.

How It Works

The core mechanic is simple yet incredibly challenging. When you break the block beneath you, a new one instantly appears in its place. This cycle continues endlessly, but as you progress, the blocks change, taking you through different phases:



Starting Phase – Basic blocks like dirt and wood to help you survive.


Biomes & Resources – As you mine more, new biomes unlock, introducing unique blocks, animals, and challenges.


Hostile Encounters – Mobs will start spawning, testing your survival skills.


Endgame Challenge – Progress far enough, and you'll gain access to the End, where your final goal awaits: defeating the Ender Dragon.

Modding One Block

While this datapack works in vanilla Minecraft, you can enhance the experience by adding mods that introduce new mechanics, better progression.
