I took the liberty of optimizing the ore bees datapack because I very much enjoyed the mechanics and aesthetic of it.

The creator included a note in the datapack that users are allowed to build on or use the datapack as they see fit, so I decided to rewrite the code to be as optimized as possible, and to allow the ore bees datapack to continue being great!


Take two bees and breed them while holding an item in your off-hand.
Breed two same-level and same-type bees to get a bee of a higher level!
Beware that if lower-level bees are around (within 3 blocks) they might not be higher level than any of the bees except the lowest level bees around when they were born.


Bees require different items to hold, and some even require cross-breeding of existing max-level bees!


If the bee difficulty is set to easy, all bees max out at level 3,
If medium, different tiers have different levels of 3, 4, and 5.
Hard mode has them all max out at level 5!


Bees MUST be max level to cross-breed or to produce items from their hive (placed in the block below the hive when full of honey).

-Added an overlay pack that fixes bugs for 1.20.3 and up, while allowing the pack to work in multiple versions using pack overlays.

-I tested, and while I didn't encounter an issue, it's possible the pack may fail to load in 1.20.1 and 1.20 due to the overlay pack.mcmeta descriptor format not having an overlay functionality then, if you need a fix for this, you can delete the "Overlays" : { } section of the pack.mcmeta file, and it should then simply ignore the future version folder if you come across some issue of it not loading up, but from my testing the pack loaded fine in 1.20.

It's not working on 1.20.4. Whenever a beehive is placed and then stood on, nothing happens. Typing the /trigger command also doesn't work.

getting some trouble with the json update on the guide book, will look into solutions for this when I manage to get time.

Your datapack is still good! I just generally try my best to avoid using resource packs, yours looks much more visually impressive. I just saw the code for this pack before and was blown away at how laggy it was, so I was inspired to optimize it with modern practices, so people can have as many bees as they want without any lag (within reason since most data packs always scale badly with too many entities)
