This pack was made with the theme Elements for Datapack Jam Spring 2026.
This pack will pit you against radiation and instability storms, forcing you to hide from the storms and upgrade your gear to defend yourself against the elements. Bring your Geiger Counter, and watch your step!
This pack adds a new biome; a sickly and dangerous forest in the exclusion zones which hold the key to your survival if you wish to face the storms head-on. You'll need to find and loot the scattered Remants and Research Labs found inside to collect a full suit of Lead Alloy Armor, which will protect you from radiation so long as you keep it repaired.
Along the way, look out for the Gurgell and Irradiated Creeper, two new dangerous mutations caused by the intense and constant radiation found within the exclusion zones. Avoid direct contact with skin.

Aside from that, the shaders used for the storm are absolutely incredible, the animated bar on the Geiger counter is really cool and so are the gas mask and the irradiated creeper. Its already the second time during the jam i've been stunned by the use of timelines for global effects, i just HAVE to learn to use them myself.
One thing im having trouble understanding is how does one enter the new biome without melting from radiation overdose? Because lead armor is in the labs as you said, and the only other way i found to make it was with lava chicken music discs (i think that's a bug).
I still haven't checked the other packs so i can't rate this one yet but if you can please help me get inside the exclusion zones i would be very happy and i could rate this pack knowing i've seen everything
The radiation coverage in the biome isn't the same everywhere, you may have to search for a lower radiation area along the border, I do think I may have overdone it with the radiation dosage around the zones overall though. You'll need Lead Alloy to craft the lead armor and gas mask, and if you use diamond or netherite armor enchanted with unbreaking you can last a decent while through most areas of the zone. You can find Lead Alloy in barrels in the Remnants' trunks and in the Labs, though it's tough looting the labs early on since the radiation in them is particularly aggressive
The chicken jockey discs are because of my slightly weird solution to custom crafting, since we don't have component inputs yet. I'm sure there's a better way to do it but I'm not familiar yet, this was just what I came up with given two weeks and not having done datapacks for at least a year prior lol
Also yeah the shader and environment timeline stuff for this was really fun, I'm going to have to use these systems more in my future projects too
