  • About

Welcome to Datapack Jam 2026! #DatapackJam

Datapack Jam is an event where participants are challenged to make a datapack in 14 days surrounding a theme. This time, we’re hoping to get more as many people to participate as possible in the jam, so share this with your friends!

If you’re interested, please hit the Join button on this page. It’s pretty much the same as “subscribing” to the jam. You’ll get updates whenever we post cool stuff! (You won’t have to enter if you join. It’s just so you can get updated on the cool stuff happening!)

    Theme: Elements

    info How does this work?

You have one week to create a datapack, starting on the 28th of March. A countdown to the start can be seen below this post. Around that time, the theme will be revealed and you can start making your datapacks! Then, enter it into the jam using the button by the countdown before the deadline.

    gavel How are packs judged?

This time, we are shaking things up. Participants of the jam will vote on other submissions! So make sure you upload a submission and vote on other community members' submissions after the ending date. We'll also have a team of judges who help to judge the packs too!

Your packs are judged on 4 criteria - technicality, creativity, interpretation, and polished-ness. More info on what those categories mean can be found in the Rating Criteria.

    1. Use your work and ideas. Online tools are allowed, but make sure to credit them.
    2. Stick to the theme. You can get as creative as possible, but your datapack must be based on the theme.
    3. Do not intentionally copy others. Use your ideas, you can do it!
    4. Datapack must be made within the time given. Do not use old datapacks.
    5. You can work in teams of 3. You can also go solo if you can’t find a friend.
    6. Stick to Planet Minecraft’s rules. Any datapack that goes against the PMC rules will be disqualified from this or future events and removed from PMC.

    - Stay simple. Don't overestimate what you can create in a week. In many cases, simplicity is better than complexity.
    - Resource packs are encouraged. They add an extra layer of effect to your pack!
    - Work in teams. Teamwork makes the dream work!
    - Don't let lack of experience put you off. The jams are meant for everyone regardless of skill level!
    - Impress us! Make your content stand out, then more people will come across it and vote :D

    stars Good luck!
