A simple and great idea, I like the output carpet which gives possibilities for 3 inputs and 3 outputs in a very small area, using repeaters, and it's easy to know where my signal is going.
However, if the carpet is on top of the block the redstone block won't power a gate immediately on top. Now, in a design where I need four inputs (buttons on an outside wall with a 3x3 hollow center) and where the buttons go to a central or-gate, the resulting signal has to be added one level higher than desireable, because I have to have a observer triggered by the redstone block above. If I use a block beside, the signal from one of my redstone buttons is blocked, and I can not remove the wall around to route the signal outside the 3x3 area.
I guess that is a limitation of Minecraft, however, since this is a datapack, I do believe your blocks might be able to detect power from below (though i'm unsure how much it will add up to the execution time of ticks if a lot of your blocks are used).
As I said, I love the carpet, but there is one very sore limitation, the carpet reacts to any of your blocks placed around it, so chaining will by design always need one additional piece of redstone dust. Now, if the carpets could be directional as well... :)
Anyway, I'll try to work around the limitations, I love this datapack, as it is the only one with gates (for now). I hope you find the time to improve it, perhaps you'd even be able to create a resourcepack with custom models? I'm trying to find out if it is possible to use any of the models and textures in the existing redstone mods for forge (for example the assets from SimpleLogic if the author gives permission).
Do you have a github project for the datapack?
Thank you for the feedback. The redstone blocks don't trigger the gates, as that would lead to a input to the gate releasing the signal --> recursion.
I know that this is an issue, but I didn't really know how to solve it. Making the carpets directional would be a solution, but that would require even more armor stands...
The execution time would not be very much longer tho. Only the lags from more entitys.
I don't really have much experience in creating custom models, so... you can't expect very much in this direction from me... ;)
No, there isn't a github project for the datapack. I also didn't plan to get working on it any soon, but we'll see. Maybe I will continue working on it in a few weeks when I have less stuff to do.
Thanks for your kind words!
I've gone back to 12.2 and Forge because of the kids.
That you're using armor stands seems very complicated. I don't know the real capabilities of datapacks, but surely some kind of command or similar would be better?
Anyway, I still like the sheer audacity of creating this :)
I need the armor stands, which are invisible and have no hitbox by the way, to mark the positions of the blocks and to store information, like for example is the block powered or not or the timer from the extender and so on.
The armor stand is a powerful tool which is used by almost every creator to make their stuff.
There is no command that could to that.
Anyways, have a nice day!
Sorry for not answering, I was very busy in the last few days.
No, I didn't even know it existed...
But that would really only be a slight improvement, wouldn't it? And I currently don't have that much free time to work on my projects, that's why I focus on the bigger ones. In a couple of days, I will release a functional programmable computer in Minecraft.
But thanks for the suggestion!

Thank you so much!
