A faithful overhaul of the fortress staying true to the feel of the old vanilla fortress but with a new charm.

This datapack revamps the nether fortress with new blocks and more modern, detailed build style. I tried to keep the basic layout of the structure unchanged, while making improvements to how it generates. There should be less pillars cutting off paths or impassable tunnels covered by netherrack.

The structure only uses blocks that can be obtained in the nether and match the style of the fortress. The floor is made of red nether brick, the walls are decorated with chiseled nether bricks and lava is used to light up the dark tunnels.

The loot table has also been modified. Nether wart should be much easier to get now. In the central keep there is always a blaze spawner and a chest that usually contains some nether wart, so even if the specific rooms that contain those resources don't generate, you can still progress the game without having to find a different fortress.

Spawning rules have also been modified, magma cubes and zombie piglins don't belong in a fortress. Now you will see more skeletons and wither skeletons.

I hope you like the datapack, feedback is welcome. For any issues you can leave a comment or message me on discord.

It looks very good. The red floor sections. The occasional cracked bricks in the foundation.
One thing that stands out is that the fortress is overall larger and more compact.
In my test run, the exterior area with the bridges turned out quite short—though that could just be a coincidence.
You’re using only vanilla structure pieces and not adding any of your own. Very good. You have four loot tables:
'loot give @s loot refined_fortress:ominous_potions',
'loot give @s loot refined_fortress:ominous_spider_trial',
'loot give @s loot refined_fortress:spider_trial',
'loot give @s loot refined_fortress:treasure_loot'.

The chest contents take a bit of getting used to; they don't feel very "Nether-like." But fair enough.
The items you can find in the chests are good, though.
I didn't get a Rib Armor Trim in my 50 test runs, but that could just be luck of the draw.
I haven't looked at the loot files themselves. Verdict: Visually, this remake really appeals to me.

I tested the Datapack in Version 26.1.2 , when adding the Datapack to the World, i get a Warning of Outdated incompatible.
This Warning message is caused maybe by some wrong version data in mcmeta File. But it has no impact to Generation.

i obviously didnt use those loot tables, they are from my other project that is used as a template for this datapack. I might ad more loot tables in the future when a i update the structure but right now i just modified the default fortress loot table to be more consistant.

Suggestion, you should probably increase the brightness of those exterior screenshots, either using night vision, or afterwords. It's hard to tell what's changed.
