Are you sick of eating the same couple foods in your survival world?

Are you sick of having to eat Golden Carrots all the time because it's "the meta"?

Are you just bored from the current selection of foods in the game (and lack of actual drinks)?

Well, look no further!
The More Foods Datapack utlizies the new Components added to Minecraft 1.20.5 to add new foods to the game! Currently, there are over 130 new food options, as well as some Advancements to look for if you're interested.

Everything added is completely vanilla--nothing added by this pack will affect any potential mods you may have installed.
Uninstallation is as easy as a simple command: /function rmf:_config/uninstall will remove everything except for items. It even disables the data pack itself!

Features

Over 80 new foods items you can either find or craft, including:
  • Honeyed Apples
  • Cheesecake
  • Tacos
  • Burritos
  • Ice Cream(s)
  • Apple Juices
  • Hot Cocoa
  • Pizza(s)
...and many more!

Ever confused on how to make something, where to find something, or how filling something is?
Check out the Wiki page, or craft a Gourmand's Digest for an in-game wiki!

Enjoy foods all created with custom textures, as well as new Advancements to search for!

This data pack is also customizable in a few areas--type /function rmf:_config to see a list of options.
Alternatively, you can use /function rmf:_help/give_item and /function rmf:give_item/(item) to give yourself any custom item!

Install Instructions

There should be 2 download links on the right. One for the Datapack, and the Resourcepack. Please install both of them!
Alternatively, there's a Modrinth Download Page button you can use to find all versions of the pack. If downloading 2 different files is annoying for you, or you just wanted the download for 1 particular minecraft version, you can use that instead!

Update Instructions

When this pack is updated, there will be a changelog at the bottom of this page. Please check it to make sure you're running the most recent version!
To ensure you aren't behind a version, consider leaving a Favorite on the pack so you'll be updated of updates!

If this pack is updated and you have an older version, you can simply overwrite it with the newer version. Any items crafted or gained from the previous version will be retained, but their recipes or text may be changed when crafting them again. If any items have been removed or otherwise changed between versions, the data pack will handle it as soon as it enters a player's inventory!

The modded version of this pack automatically works with the AppleSkin mod (Fabric Only), so if you have it installed you'll be able to see the updated food values.

A Forge port of the mod is now available as of v1.1.2. I don't plan on porting previous versions as there's no need, but I can if enough people ask for it.

Currently, no other food data pack will work with this one. However, I plan to create stand-alone addons FOR other food data packs that will play nice with them.
Mods that add food to the game should work fine though. (This pack only affects vanilla items so modded items shouldn't be affected)

Credits & Attributions

All of the code in the pack is created by me. Almost every texture is also made by me, with a few being from Google.
These few textures were gotten from there because they likely were exactly what I was looking for, were better than anything I could've made, or were placeholders.

If you would like to use this data pack in a video, modpack, or any other sort of project you have, you're free to do so! Please just credit me so I can continue to update and balance the data pack.

What's that? I *just* put out a patch, and now I'm putting out another? No idea what you're talking about.

Changelog is available here on the Wiki. Please don't ask any questions on why another patch is here. I'm very tired and/or stupid. Making things is hard.

If you find any (more) pesky bugs, you can let me know on the issue tracker!

...Meatball? There aren't any meatballs in this project. Do you mean the Coconut?
If so, yeah coconuts tend to look like bowling balls haha.

Hey guys! If you use Reg's More Foods and also have The Creeper's Code data pack installed, you may quickly find that all of your foods from The Creeper's Code has turned into ...Tofu.This is a bug and an oversight! I'll have a patch out soon to fix this.

I know what's causing it too, and the reason is dumber than you think. Regardless, try not to have any foods from The Creeper's Code in your inventory when you update to version 1.2 of Reg's More Foods.

I'm unsure if other food data packs have been affected, but I am testing them out. Err on the side of caution for now.

Thank you! Making textures actually look good is a lot harder than it seems.
Also, all new cookies added are just reskins of regular cookies, except for 1 which gives you an effect :)

yea some of these recipes are counter-intuitive and should be remade. Cheese should be made via a recipe that includes milk and something else instead of the ridiculous sponges and or end pieces. Using a stonecutter as a hidden thing to make components is bad. Should be easy enough to make a craft table recipe version...

Cheese is meant to be a difficult item to get ahold of early game. A lot of the really good foods require cheese in their recipes (an example being Pizza), so I didn’t want it to be super easy to just make some.
It also prompts the player to go out and explore! While exploring, you’re likely to come across new ingredients, thus allowing for new recipes.
The recipes available in the Stonecutter are also in the Crafting Table’s recipe book once you’ve picked up a stonecutter once.

history
A number of ingredients will trigger the recipe book to give you the recipe for Pizzas, but the most common ingredients are Wheat, Eggs, and Cheese.
Once you obtain Cheese, multiple other recipes will be available to you!

To find cheese, either locate a plains village and search their chests for a chance to find some, or go an Ocean Monument. Sponges can be used in the Stonecutter to make Cheese.
You can also use End Stone in a Stonecutter to make Cheese, but that means getting to the End (and beating the game to get back alive). However, you can get much more Cheese this way due to how much easier End Stone is to get than Sponges.

If you have any other questions about where to find ingredients and such, you can search the wiki for more information. It's always being updated with new pages, so check back. (the specific page for cheese pizza is here)
