    On death you will spectate, then when you chose you will respawn elsewhere in your world.
    Default respawn range is set to 0-16384

    can change with commands
    data modify storage random_respawn min|max set value <num>

    Now you become spectator on death, and then given the ability to chose when you respawn. Also works with Hardcore mode.

    Isn't this possible already in vanilla with the world spawn command? Where u are able to decide how big the world spawn area should be?
