EXPECTED QUESTIONS W/ ANSWERS:

"Why can't I craft X?":

Some Crafting Recipes have been changed to better fit the theme or just for QoL purposes. Here are the changes:

NEW RECIPE/REPLACED ITEM INDEX (FROM LEFT DOWN):
  • Lime Stained-Glass
  • Trident
  • Spectral Arrow
  • Shield
  • Saddle
  • Rabbit's Foot
  • Lantern
  • Gunpowder

  • Brown Stained Glass
  • Pumpkin Pie
  • Cookies
  • Cyan Stained Glass
  • Light Blue Stained Glass
  • Green Dye
  • Soul Lantern
  • Vertical Tatami Mat
Sorry if there is any confusion!

"Why are creepers mice now? They're so small I can barely see them! >:( are you stupid?":

The Kodama Nezumi is a type of yokai that is described as a regular ball mouse that swells up and explodes upon contact. The only yokai I could think of that could be equivalent to the Creeper. Their hitboxes remain the same, however it is now easier for them to sneak up on you due to the dramatic grass textures and their size. To counter this I made it so this mob has the lowest base HP of any mob so you can quickly defuse them when caught. I also lowered their spawn chances to make it less annoying. For you gunpowder farmers, I have made gunpowder a craft able item in response.

"Biome changes have made X block unobtainable":

With Changes to "western" biomes. Blocks like Terracotta and Cactuses no longer spawn naturally. However I did make changes which make up for it.

  • Terracotta can be purchased in large numbers from Tinsmith Villagers
  • Cocoa Beans and Cactuses can be found in chests in some village.
  • Note: Green dye is now made from yellow+blue dye instead of smelting cactuses.
  • All Purpur Blocks can be found in chests in Ryūgū-jō (End City) structures.
  • Red Sand can be found in chests of Burnt Plains Villages

"Why should I have Optifine installed for the resource pack":

Many features like customized entity models and items, colors, skybox, connected textures will not compute without Optifine. If youre not using forge I recommend using optifabric.

"Can I use Sodium?":

  No.

"Why should I use the resource pack at all?":

This project was a resource pack first. It became a data pack when I got to the point where vanilla Minecraft wasn't cutting it for the resource pack anymore. So I made this data pack to utilize the resource pack to fullest. Even if you refute Optifine, I would still really want you to use the resource pack regardless. Playing this datapack without the resource pack would be like watching a movie with a blindfold on. It's over half the experience.

Those who don't use the resource pack are condemned with an eternity of negative wisdom and itchy foreheads >:(

"Can you make this compatible with X mod/data pack?":

  No.

Update #3 : by QwikSand 10/21/2024 8:33:41 pmOct 21st, 2024

Updated to 1.21

Not gonna lie I didn't really do much except update it to Minecraft 1.21. As a matter of fact a lot of features are not working as intention such as the kensei blade and other customized armor. The colored mob spawn eggs also don't work anymore. But it should be at least playable. I've played around with the mob sizes tho, speaking of which the Tengu (Vex) has been enlarged to have a fair hit box. Other than that it's a pretty lack luster update.

I've come to the senses that Minecraft is currently in a mod hell at the moment thanks to Nexus Forge and the unnecessary changes Mojang makes to the code. And with all the mods I need to work on Datapacks all spread out makes me not want to play anything above 1.20.1 at the moment. I know it sounds petty but I am doing all of this for fun, and I don't want to keep updating this datapack if I have all these coinvent features taken away from me. I know someone of you guys want this and I said i'll update once Optifine updates so I made this. All of this is open source so if anyone wants to fix or add new stuff please be my guest.

Please do not message me to make this compatible with epic big fights mod or some shit like that. I am not a coder.

Is this data pack incompatible with the Shioh Shogunate world save?

I think so. The Shioh Shogunate map has it's own data pack and I didn't intend to use them together.

Hello!
I can't comment under the Shioh Shogunate so I'm trying to reach you here. the data pack isn't working under Minecraft 1.21.1 despite it being advertised as working under that version. I tried it with optifine and without. And the texturepack is not loading under optifine, only under normal MC which makes it look very weird with all the illagers running arround
And I wanted to tell you that I love the map

Looks like I had a little problem today. The monument structure with the end city structure is not the same as you describe. It's Vanilla structure.
