I've always felt that the progression in minecraft can be a bit easy to run through. Going from iron to diamond on day one of a server happened so quickly and usually killed off a two week phase before we could even get to day five. So to give the game more grind to gear up and combat getting board so early I made this datapack to slow down progression of the vanilla game. By extending the grind of advancement just slightly to keep the game rewarding before getting to comfortable.
This pack focuses primarily on recipe changes along with some small loot table adjustments that stretch out the progression of the game from start to finish.
Changes:
Iron
Smelting raw iron produces iron nuggets instead of ingots.
Smelting iron ore directly still produces an ingot.
Gold
Smelting raw gold produces gold nuggets instead of ingots.
Smelting gold ore directly still produces an ingot.
Stone Tools
All stone tools now have to be crafted using stone blocks instead of cobblestone.
Shields
Shields now require logs to be crafted rather than planks.
Enchanting Table
Crafting an enchanting table now requires diamond blocks instead of individual diamonds.
Diamond Ore
Diamond ore is a little more rare as it now generates half as much.
Blaze Rods
Blazes are less likely to drop blaze rods.
Eye of Ender
The eye of ender now requires four blaze powder to craft instead of just one.
The goal of this pack is to try and stretch out the progression while still keeping the game engaging and entertaining and I plan to add more content of that nature if I find the right way to implement it. Please provide any suggestions that would help make the pack better.
