I've always felt that the progression in minecraft can move a bit fast. And depending on the player it can be too easy to go from iron to diamond on day one of a server or new world. This early game speed run can often kill projects like a two week phase before day five. The solution I've come up with is this datapack, that gives the game a more rewarding grind in the early stages. By slowing down progression to combat early burnout or boredom it stretches out the advancement timeline, and in doing so it keeps you more engaged.
This pack focuses primarily on recipe changes, small loot table adjustments, and tweaked world generation to smoothly extend the vanilla progression from start to finish. All in a fun and balanced, RPG like way.
Changes:
Iron
Smelting raw iron produces iron nuggets instead of ingots.
Smelting iron ore and raw iron blocks produce ingots.
Gold
Smelting raw gold produces gold nuggets instead of ingots.
Smelting gold ore and raw gold blocks produce ingots.
Copper
Smelting raw copper produces copper nuggets instead of ingots
Smelting copper ore and raw copper blocks produce ingots.
Chainmail
Chainmail armor is now craftable using iron nuggets
Stone Tools
All stone tools now have to be crafted using stone/deepslate blocks instead of cobblestone/cobbled deepslate.
Enchanting Table
Crafting an enchanting table now requires diamond blocks instead of individual diamonds.
Books
Crafting an book now requires one more leather and string to simulate binding the spine.
Diamond Ore
Diamonds are a little more rare as the ore now generates half as much.
Eye of Ender
The eye of ender now requires four blaze powder to craft instead of just one.
The goal of this pack is to try and stretch out the progression while still keeping the game engaging, entertaining and balanced and I plan to add more content of that nature if I find the right way to implement it.

The pack has been updated to run on version 26.2 of Minecraft.
The feature generation of diamond ore has been optimized, and copper ore generation has been slightly increased to compensate for smelting to nuggets.
The recipe for books has been updated, chainmail is craftable and raw copper smelts to nuggets now.
