Use this datapack to keep track of your time while speedrunning minecraft. Keep in mind that this keeps track of the time between loading the world and killing the ender dragon, and that during loading of the nether for example, the timer pauses for a short while.

Minecraft Version

This datapack was tested in 1.16.1, but should be compatible with all versions from 1.13 to 1.16.1

Slightly changed the look of the timer, now 1/100ths of seconds are displayed in grey for clarity

More like this

  Have something to say?

i'm 95% sure you can't use any modifications in speedruns. therefore making this useless, unless for some reason you decide to use this to practice instead of livesplit

When someone gets into speedrunning for the very first time they know it'll be a while before they have even a shadow of a chance at a worthy time. You know, like me lol. I just want an easy timer I can have in-game so I can practice until I get a sub-45 time for 1.16. Unless I get sub-45 or so I won't even consider trying to stream or submit anything because if I can't even get sub 45 it means I haven't gotten used to the speedrun techniques yet. For now, just to practice as a beginner, this will do nicely. ;) Only issue maybe is you have to put the datapack in each world because that's how datapacks are, so it's a little inconvenient for jumping through a lot of worlds trying to get a good random. But for practice doing a few set seeds is fine too anyway.

Yeah it's meant for people who just want to try a speedrun without it being too serious, otherwise I would just recommend using a separate tool for timing. I'm pretty sure the timer pauses if a dimension is loading, so you shouldn't use it to keep track of the exact time.
